Korhan Erel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\n

Korhan Erel is a Berlin-based non-binary electronic musician, improviser, composer and sound artist.

Their music covers conceptual\/narrative sound performances, as well as structured and composed pieces for contemporary dance, theatre, and video art. They perform solo, in duos and in groups with musicians and dancers, as well as in ensembles and orchestras. They use recorded and altered sound as well as synthesized sound in their practice.

Current bands include Ephemeral Fragments (with Florian Walter and Emily Wittbrodt), Paralogues (with Tu\u00e7e Erel), Only With You (with Eliad Wagner), an electroacoustic duo with Neslihan Schmidt) and Lettow Erel (with Gunnar Lettow).

Korhan has completed three residencies at STEIM in Amsterdam (in 2005 and 2011) and was a guest composer at the Electronic Music Studios in Stockholm in January 2011.
They have twelve CD and LP releases on ECM (with Trickster Orchestra), Umland Records, FMR, Gruenrekorder, Creative Sources Records, Evil Rabbit Records, A.K. M\u00fczik, M\u00fczik Hayvan\u0131, and Kukuruku Recordings, as well as several digital releases.
Korhan has performed at Soundtrips NRW, the Moers Festival, Labor Sonor, the Klangzeit Festival, Kontraklang, the Borusan Music House, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, XJAZZ Festival, All Ears Festival, New Adits Festival, Akbank Jazz Festival, Berlin Jazz Festival, Tehran Digital Arts Exhibition, and many other venues and festivals across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North America.

Korhan’s collaboration with Sydney-based video artist Fabian Astore, ‘The Threshold’, won the Blake Prize in Australia in 2012.
Korhan has shown several sound\/video installations in art spaces in Germany, Hong Kong, and Turkey.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
